John Ortleb, Sensei, came to Bescorp, Inc. with over 28 years experience in multiple industries including 20 years at a major Aerospace Fabrication and Assembly Plant inclusive of 13 years in management including 5 years as Manager of Strategic Planning and Business Management and 5 years as Production Systems Promotion Office Project Manager. John left Aerospace and held Director Positions in Operations, Process Management and Quality Assurance in the Telecommunications, Mortgage Services, and Design Industries.

At the major Aerospace Division, John was instrumental in the linking of Quality Planning with Business and Strategic Planning, inclusive of the introduction of Continuous Quality Improvement and Process Management. Also in his role as Strategic and Business Planning Manager, he introduced the single thread approach for goals, objectives and cascading measures and targets to all levels of employment. He was also part of the team that introduced Performance Management to the Division. He was a leader in the transformation of that Division from a Traditional Batch and Queue system to a Lean Production System, first by facilitating its introduction to the Leadership Team, then by transitioning himself over to an internal consultant role at the division to help lead that transition through implementation.

His “Lean” production experiences in aerospace have been complimented with other non-production “Lean” experiences in Telecommunications, Mortgage Services and Design Industries. In all of these he introduced process management and lean principles through Value Stream Flow Analysis, process mapping and baseline metrics introduction. These experiences included the creation and mapping of new processes for several initial start-up companies. In addition he has project management experience inclusive of initiating a virtual SAN for a major mortgage service company,

John is APICS Certified in Inventory and Production Management with an MBA and a BA in Economics from the University of Kansas. He was trained in the Toyota Production System by the Shingijutsu, Ltd Consultants, who have a direct lineage to the Mr. Taiichi Ohno. He possesses certifications from University of Tennessee in Product Delivery System Design for a “Lean Enterprise and from Alcoa University for Business Systems Lean Principles inclusive of Value Stream Analysis. He has lead and participated in many Value Stream Mappings and countless “Kaizen” events at companies like Pratt Whitney, Alcoa, Hitachi, NAVSEA and Boeing.
