During his 20 year career with the Boeing Company Mike led the implementation of Quality Circles, Total Quality, World Class and Lean Manufacturing at the Wichita Division. As a Product Line Manager on the 737 and 757 Value Streams he worked closely with developers of the Toyota Production System to achieve record first pass yield, productivity, and on-time delivery performance.

Since 1999 Mike has played a significant role in the rapid growth of Lean Six Sigma throughout the US Department of Defense. He has mentored Command and Executive Leadership through successful roll-outs at over 200 locations on four continents including numerous North American Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence recipients.  The Lean deployment system he developed for US Naval Sea Systems Command enabled that organization to achieve over $200 million in improvements on more than 500 projects during the first year of implementation alone. 

Other organizations that have looked to Mike for guidance include Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Rockwell Collins, Sikorsky, the NORDAM Group, Cobalt Boats, the U.K. Royal Air Force, the Saudi Arabian Oil Company, Progress Energy, OneSteel, and the State of Kansas.

Mike is a Shingo Prize Examiner, a featured speaker at numerous Shingo Prize and AME Conferences, and the host of the  RadioLean™ internet broadcast.
